John Adelegan is a staff member of River Recycle in Finland and is part of the effort to expand the organisation´s activities into the African market. He is a Civil Engineer and has completed a Master´s degree in Water and Environmental Engineering. He has both practical and theoretical experience in the field of sustainability and waste management having worked for the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) an international research organisation with their African headquarters in Accra, Ghana and Global Network for Environment and Economic Development Research (GNEEDER) a West African renewable energy organisation in Ghana. He has written and presented research papers at four global conferences namely the Dresden Nexus Conference (DNC) 2020, Dresden, Germany, the 2016 “Under Western Skies International Conference”, Calgary, Canada, the 2019 Oklahoma University International Water Conference, Norman, Oklahoma, United States and the 13th Globelics International Conference, Havana, Cuba.
He is passionate about sustainable development on the African continent and has the theoretical and practical knowledge from both Africa and Finland that can be employed towards solving the sustainability issues that are still prevalent in Africa.
